CORE STUDIES

We unite around these core doctrines

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”  (Ephesians 4:3-6)

1.  One Faith

2.  One God

3.  One Lord

4.  One Hope

5.  One Baptism

6.  One Body

7.  One Spirit

These studies are based off of Ephesians 4:3-6, the idea that there are seven foundational truths of Christianity: the seven “Ones”. They are meant to be used as a resource to help lead a seeker to Christ.  Let the Spirit be your ultimate guide as you instruct someone in the elementary truths of God’s Word and elementary teachings about Christ (Hebrews 5:11-6:3).  The studies supplied here can serve as supplements to the Core Studies series:

A. Seeking God

This study is useful if someone was studying the Core Studies and stopped and has decided to start up again.  This is a great study to get things going again.

B.  Medical Account of the Crucifixion

This is a great companion to the One Hope/Cross of Christ study.  It can be great to give as homework after that study or it is particularly useful if someone is having a hard time really connecting with the cross.

C.  New Testament Conversion

This study is a good supplement to the One Baptism/Light & Darkness study.  Especially for the person who is struggling to understand and accept how people are converted in the New Testament.

D.  Counting the Cost

This is a great final study to do with someone right before their baptism, even the day of the baptism.

“Therefore, let us leave the elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, faith in God, teaching about baptisms, laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And we will do this if God permits.”

– Hebrews 6:1-3
